Fragata Island House Cartagena is for travelers who want the Rosario Islands without the fuss. There is no dress code and no booming sound system, just a boat ride, a welcome drink, a classic arepa de huevo, an island-style lunch and time in the water with a kayak and a snorkel mask.

It is an honest, uncomplicated day pass that works for families and budget-minded travelers alike. One plan covers the boat, the food, the loungers and the gear, so the only decision left is how long to stay in the water. For background on the archipelago and the national park, see our complete Rosario Islands guide.

What your day at Fragata Island House Cartagena looks like

Meet at the La Bodeguita tourist dock at around 7:30 AM. Before boarding, you pay the port tax and the mandatory maritime insurance in cash, in Colombian pesos. These fees are set by the authorities and can change without notice. The boat leaves around 8:15 AM for the island.

A welcome drink and a hot arepa de huevo, the egg-filled corn fritter Cartagena is known for, set the tone when you arrive. Spend the morning on a sun lounger or out on the water, paddling a kayak or snorkeling with the gear provided. Lunch is served island style, then you have the rest of the day to swim and relax. The boat takes you back to the city around 3:30 PM. Please note that outside food is not allowed on the island.

Why choose Fragata

This is a relaxed, unpretentious island day with no party pressure. Kayak and snorkel gear are included in the pass rather than rented by the hour, so you can use them whenever the mood strikes. The arepa de huevo on arrival adds a true local touch that you will not find at the bigger clubs.

Fragata is also family-friendly. Children under 10 have their own child rate, and the easygoing pace suits younger kids who do not need loud music to have a good time.

One straightforward plan

There is just one Fragata day pass. It includes the round-trip boat, the welcome drink, the arepa de huevo snack, the island lunch, sun loungers, and kayak and snorkel gear. Towel rental and extra food or drinks are paid on site, so bring a towel and a little cash. Hotel transfers to the dock are not included, but we can arrange a private transfer if you ask on WhatsApp.

If you want a fancier lunch or an open bar, other islands will suit you better. If you want simple and sunny, Fragata Island House Cartagena fits the bill.
